Dwight's Story:

Dwight has just reached his 1 year mark at Port City CrossFit.  His success has been awesome to witness.  Dwight is a great example of what someone can accomplish when they are open to learning and dedicated to change.  Here is his story:


In 2009 I had reached a weight of 315 lbs. Besides having to take blood pressure and cholesterol medications, I wasn’t sleeping well, lacked energy, and felt miserable. I tried several fad diets with little lasting success. I was able to lose some of this weight using Weight Watchers and working out on my own, but eventually I fell off and gained most of the weight back. I knew it was time for a change…a real change.


I came to Port City CrossFit in January 2012 ready to take control of my health. I came to the gym with an open mind, ready to learn, and make some changes. Right away, I liked the welcoming atmosphere. The trainers took the time to work with me individually and made sure I had the knowledge I needed to succeed. I quickly made friends with others in the gym who were also seeking to challenge themselves. I found that the structured workouts and group environment pushed me more than I could have on my own at the globo gym.


I began to find that I looked forward to the workouts and enjoyed the challenge I found at the gym every day. I am now in the best shape of my life. I have lost over 50 lbs, while putting on some muscle and building lots of strength. I have found that being fit doesn’t have to be a constant struggle, and it can have a positive impact on a person’s outlook on life.



Through hard work and dedication, Dwight changed his life for the better, and you can too!  Keep up the good work, Dwight!  We are proud of you!
