10 Success Stories of 2012

Posted on January 3, 2013 at 7:40 PM

As we move in to the new year and get ourselves back on track and working towards new goals, it's important that we take the time to reflect on the last year and some of the great successes that our members have achieved through their hard work, dedication, and good old fashioned discipline.  There are so many amazing transformations, feats of strength, and overall huge improvements, that it was difficult to choose just 10, but these are  few that stood out.

Oz staying fit through her pregnancy:  Despite the many challenges presented by being pregnant, Oz didn't stop being fit, strong, and healthy.  She maintained her fitness and continued to come to the gym until just days before giving birth to her son.  Amazingly, she was back in the gym just several weeks later.  Truly incredible!

Carl's transformation:  These photos were taken just 12 weeks apart.  They pretty much speak for themselves.  Carl continues to challenge himself in the gym on a regular basis; in fact, he's come a long way since this after-picture.

Dan's 500 lb deadlift:  Pretty awesome!

Robby's improvements in mobility:  Robby has worked hard to improve his flexibility on a regular basis, and it shows.  To those of you who are already flexible, this may not sound like a lot, but drastic improvements in flexibility don't come easily.  They come through putting in lots of time and effort, sitting in sometimes very uncomfortable positions for lengths of time.  Nice work Robby!  Too bad this isn't a before and after pic of the front rack position!

Kayla's qualification for nationals:  Despite being a full time nursing student and working part time, this girl makes no excuses.  Through her positive attitude and hard work, Kayla has reached best lifts of a 140 lb snatch and 171 lb clean and jerk, weighing less than 125 lbs!

Lauren's 300 lb deadlift:  If you had the pleasure of meeting Lauren before she moved to San Diego, you know how much great energy she brought to the gym.  This girl trains hard!  Even after leaving PCCF, she stayed on her pursuit of a 300 lb deadlift, and with lots of time and effort, she made it happen!

Dwight's transformation:  Dwight came to PCCF with an open mind, a positive attitude, and ready for change.  Over the course of a year, Dwight has worked to get into the best shape of his life by consistently pushing himself and resolving to improve and never look back.

Steve and Sue's consistent attendance:  If you come to the gym in the morning, then you definetly know at least one of these two, because they rarely ever miss a day.  They are two of our original members from when PCCF first opened our doors over two years ago.  They were willing to give us a try, and they have stuck with us since!  Both of their transformations have been quite amazing.

Michael's 230 clean and jerk:  For a guy that weighs 130 lbs, a 230 lb. clean and jerk is beyond impressive; it's amazing.  This kind of lift isn't something that just happens.  No one trains harder or more than Michael.  He goes and goes and goes.  He is currently 6 lbs away from qualifying for nationals.  Here is a picture of him cleaning 225...wearing a wig.
